Our May session got off to a cracking start with Dr. Charles Ashton’s outstanding set of pictures for his Fellowship Distinction of the Irish Photographic Federation.
Once again, we enjoyed a splendid range topics and images from our members.
Two presentations featured 3D anaglyphs to enhance the concept of the tpoic. With red/cyan 3D specs supplied free of charge to Club members, Clive Haynes’ images explored monuments to the subject’s presumed piety whilst Tej Kaushall anticipated the shape of future living spaces.
Maddy Pennock explored the fascinating and artistic close-up world of daisies in water, Alex Isaacs represented a blurry world which offered both uncertainty and hope.
Tessa Mills introduced us to the simple and expressive joy of simply ‘seeing’ and enjoying the freedom of photography coupled with imagination. Bob Oakley took us to Newcastle where his vision of the city was represented through a technique reminiscent of gum bichromate processing. Another way of seeing was offered by Bob Green who took a single viewpoint where the outside environment constantly changed.
Sue Biggart found the humble egg to be a source of inspiration whilst a visit to Paignton Zoo provided some ‘monkey business’ for Wendy Allard’s attention.
Our two ‘outside sources’ were:
Claudio Bravo Camus a Chilean hyperrealist painter, who's photo-realistic paintings are quite amazing. Link: Claudio Bravo Camus
And the expressive abstracts by Doug Chinnery Link: Doug Chinnery

With all best wishes,
Tessa and Clive
