More information about Worcestershire Camera Club.
During our club season, from September through to May, you will find us at the Bishop Allenby Hall or online via Zoom every Tuesday evening for our main Club nights. We are proud to offer a varied programme of talks from distinguished guest speakers on subjects ranging from landscape and travel photography and audio-visual sequences to monochrome prints and even Mobile Phone photography.
If you are interested in becoming a member, feel free to attend one of our Club meetings and experience what we do. For a small fee of £3 per meeting you can visit us up to 3 times before becoming a member. Take a look at our programme and choose a night to come along.
In addition to the weekly programme, we have four specialist groups: Digital Photography Group, AV Group, Contemporary Group, and the more recently established Photography Development Group. These informal groups meet once a month to discuss and demonstrate techniques to help you develop your photography skills. Subjects covered might include anything from basic camera techniques, using Photoshop and Lightroom to process the images, through to printing and presentation.
To assist members who would like to improve their photographic skills we also have a mentoring scheme.
As you browse these pages you will find more information about our club and see a wide range of images taken by our members.
The Worcestershire Camera Club was formed in 1890
Our club was created by members of the Worcester Tricycle Club and held its first meeting at the Guildhall in October of that year. The Club, which has always been based in Worcester, enjoys one of the largest Camera Club memberships in the Midlands. In 2015 we celebrated our 125th Anniversary.
As the press cutting illustrates, the idea to form a Camera Club in the City of Worcester was made known at a meeting of the Worcester Tricycle Club in February 1890 held at the Bell Hotel in St John's.
