Thursday 20th Digital Imaging Group

(Meeting hosts Bob Oakley & Nigel Reader)

The aim is to have an audience participation evening and it would be good to have as many of you involved as possible. The intention is split the evening into three (time variable!) sections comprising the following:-
  • Showing your images on the theme of “Texture” following the interest generated last time. An encouragement perhaps to think “outside the box” and try to work on Martin’s oft quoted remark that "there are pictures everywhere”!
  • Showing images that you submit by photographers you admire. Could be one of the twentieth century “greats” or perhaps a current practitioner.
  • A section on image editing being either an opportunity for you to show one of your own original RAW images, followed by your completed, edited version. Or, we will make available for you two or three RAW images (link to follow in due course) and will invite you to download one or both and then edit as you see fit, before returning your edited version(s) for showing on the night. The intention is to facilitate discussion on processing techniques and choices. You might, for example, want to crop, enhance certain features and hold back others, or harden or soften the mood, or edit in any other way that takes your fancy depending upon how you see the image and what you feel it might portray.

Please contact Bob or Nigel for details

Location: Royal British Legion, Claines.
